Immuno Support is a carefully balanced composition of substances that should help and support the body’s immune system during heavy training periods or in cold times. The formula includes Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that helps reduce fatigue and protects cells from oxidative stress and contributes to a normal functioning immune system during and after intense physical activity. Vitamin D contributes to normal muscle function as well as a normal functioning immune system. Zinc contributes to normal testosterone levels, protein synthesis and normal function of the immune system.
The amino acid L-Glutamine is the most used amino acid in the body. About 60% of the amino acids in our muscle mass are L-Glutamine. During hard training, levels in the body decrease drastically and in case of deficiency, the body is put in a catabolic degrading position. Athletes have reported that an increased intake of the amino acid L-Glutamine helps them avoid colds. A supplement of glutamine has been shown to improve the function of the intestinal mucosa and thus contributes to the stabilization of the immune system.
Lysine is an essential amino acid that has antiviral properties and is successfully used against mouth ulcers caused by the herpes virus.
Beta-1.3 glucans have been used to help the immune system since the 1980s mainly in Asia. Beta-1.3 glucans improve the body’s immune system against foreign invading intruders by supporting the ability of our natural innate immune cells (the body’s first line of defense) macrophages, neutrophils, and natural killer cells to react to and fight a variety of problems such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Wellmune is the extract used in studies of children and the immune system, among others. The results of the new research now provide evidence of the strengthening effect of beta-glucans on the immune system, especially in children
